An exciting opportunity to meet the artists behind the work! Join contemporary artists Stevie Fieldsend and Penelope Cain as they talk about their artistic practices.
At 4pm Stevie Fieldsend will present an Artist Talk to coincide with her solo exhibition and latest body of work. An award multidisciplinary artist working primarily with wood and glass across sculpture and installation, Stevie Fieldsend’s work seeks to detail an emotional state and seeks to convey emotional realities about longing, grief, death, life and regeneration.
To be followed by an Artist Talk with multidisciplinary artist Penelope Cain – who will speak about her latest paste-up project at Artereal Gallery.
Penelope Cain is a Sydney based artist working across installation, drawing, photography and video. Her work explores an ongoing interest in the contemporary urban condition and the intersection between the built urban landscape and the people that inhabit it.
Cain’s work captures ‘the wild’ and ‘the ruined’ within the urban landscape and presents a series of fractured narratives depicting wild animals, partial ruins and unattended corners of the city, as part of the artist’s ongoing search for the mythologised contemporary urban sublime.
