Following on from his recent solo show Summoning Circle at Artereal Gallery, Owen Leong has been invited to exhibit new and recent artworks in two group exhibitions with Artspace Sydney and Margaret Whitlam Galleries, Western Sydney University. 

Curated by Sarah Rose, ‘to look each other in the eye’ is the seventh annual Parramatta Artists Studios (PAS) presentation at Artspace. Featuring artists Owen Leong, Ali Tahayori and Jodie Whalen, this edition explores the compelling relationships between desire, intimacy, personal histories, and altered states of being.

‘Word Up!’ is a group show at the Margaret Whitlam Galleries, Western Sydney University.

Presented by Western Sydney Creative (WSC) and the School of Humanities and Communication (HCA) Arts at Western Sydney University Word up! will be held in the Margaret Whitlam Galleries. Curated by Margaret Hancock, Curator Collections and Cultural Programme – WSC and Dr Leo Robba, Associate Dean of Engagement – HCA, the exhibition will  include artworks, graphic design and moving image artworks that incorporate text and will be sourced from the Western Sydney University Art collection, the Powerhouse Collection and loans directly from artists.

Featured artists include: Amala Groom, David McDiarmid, Elvis Richardson, Garage Graphix, Gerry Wedd, Jessica Wheelahan, Kate Just, Kelly Dolly, Kenny Pittock, Troy Anthony Bayliss, Martin Sharp, Min Wong, Owen Leong, Reg Mombassa – Mambo, Paul Yore, r e a, Sarah Edmondson, Tony Garifalakis, and Zoe Brand.
