At a time when so many of us are spending the majority of our days locked inside, we’ve turned to a selection of calming artworks to find solace and peace. Grounded in the magical, mystical and wondrous qualities of the natural world, the below artworks draw on the power of the landscape and nature to transform our emotional state and reconnect us  with the sublime magic of the larger cosmos.

Referenced both directly and more obliquely, the constantly changing beauty of the natural world underpins the work of all of these artists. We hope you will find it a balm and a reminder that life will march on, times will change, and soft rains will come again…

There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground,
And swallows circling with their shimmering sound;

And frogs in the pools singing at night,
And wild plum trees in tremulous white,

Robins will wear their feathery fire
Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire;

And not one will know of the war, not one
Will care at last when it is done.

Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree
If mankind perished utterly;

And Spring herself, when she woke at dawn,
Would scarcely know that we were gone.
