Kate Coyne
awarded the 2019 Artereal Gallery Mentorship award

Congratulations to Kate Coyne, who is the recipient of the 2019 Artereal Gallery Mentorship Award.

Awarded each year to one graduating Bachelor of Visual Arts Honours student from Sydney Collage of the Arts, the recipient of the award is mentored closely by Artereal Gallery for one year and given the opportunity to exhibit at the gallery as part of a group exhibition. The Artereal Gallery Mentorship Award allows the recipient to seek advice and guidance relating to their professional development, including  the development of artistic practice, exhibition opportunities, art prizes, residences and artist profiling opportunities.

Coyne received the award for her elegant body of work Transformation: Articulation of the Gasp, a series of constructed paintings made from polyurethane foam and galvanised steel nails,  masterful in creating a sense of movement and flux.

Coyne will be presenting new work in an upcoming group exhibition titled ‘Speculative Alchemy’, opening at Artereal Gallery on Wednesday, 1 April 2020, from 6-8pm.
