Congratulations to Elwira Skowronska, who has been announced as the winner of the 2022 Fauvette Loureiro Memorial Scholarship – emerging category!
Of Elwira’s winning work the judges noted the “intriguing relationships between modernist histories of oil painting and contemporary digital visualisation of the invisible world.
Its presentation in the finalist exhibition was strongly connected with her proposed international residency.”
The Fauvette Loureiro Memorial Scholarship was established in 1997 through a gift from the estate of Renee Fauvette Erdos, an educator and founder of the History Teachers’ Association of NSW, celebrating the memory of her mother Fauvette Loureiro.
The purpose of the scholarship is to support graduates of the Sydney College of Arts to pursue a program of professional development through travel.
The Fauvette Loureiro Memorial Scholarship exhibition is now open and will run until the 29th of October at SCA Gallery.
