“For 19 years, Artereal Gallery has been an all consuming passion for me. Opening Artereal in 2006 allowed me to realise a long held dream of one day owning an art gallery and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

During the last 19 years I also feel that I have gained a family. Noula, Barbara and Rhianna have been with me for 19 and 15 years respectively and they are the essence of Artereal. Having closely consulted with them, we all feel that this is the natural time to conclude this phase of our lives, and this chapter for Artereal.

I would like to thank each of our artists for their dedication and commitment to both their art practices and Artereal Gallery. We have been beyond blessed to work with so many talented artists. We believe that each one of them has contributed something important to the Australian art world and we feel privileged to have been able to support them in doing so.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the many collectors, industry peers and friends who have supported us throughout this journey. We couldn’t have done it without you.

For now, I would like to finish by reiterating that although this is the end of an era, we intend to conclude with huge pride. I hope these final months will be a celebration of the incredible legacy that we have all built together. I am beyond proud of what our artists and the Artereal team have achieved together in the last 19 years. We have presented more than 300 solo exhibitions and showcased the work of over 150 artists.We have launched the careers of many, many artists who have gone on to become well recognised and acclaimed. We were early and innovative adopters of online exhibitions. We have helped change the landscape of Australian art history by facilitating the sale of important artworks into almost every significant arts institution in Australia (and many internationally!). We have inspired a new generation of collectors to support Australian art. We have taken risks with what we have shown, been guided by our integrity and held true to our own unique curatorial vision. And we have had fun every step of the way!
