Simone Douglas
Person, Place, or Thing: New Ideas in Photography

Congratulations to Simone Douglas on having her work curated into Person, Place, or Thing: New Ideas in Photography curated by Amy Geise at
Sharon Arts Center Exhibition Gallery, New Hampshire Institute of Art, New Hampshire.

As part of the exhibition, Simone will show photographic works from her series Blind and Eternal Return.
The exhibition poses the questions: Who are the artists that are currently pushing against the edges of how we perceive and define the medium of photography? What are the visual, technical, and conceptual shifts that deviate from our apperceptive type? By highlighting works whose subject matter is classic in content – portraits, landscapes, still lives – we can see more clearly how the flexibility of this medium is evolving and expanding ever outward to remain engaged and relevant to contemporary society.
